Smile | Review & Score

About: After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, a psychiatrist becomes increasingly convinced she is being threatened by an uncanny entity.

Definitely one of the more original outings we've had in the horror genre.

SMILE is a terrific and thrilling experience for us genre nuts. It's got a solid cast, including terrific performances from both Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner, respectively. It has beautiful cinematography, some really solid scares and is a butt load of fun, especially for theatergoers. I loved just about every part of this film, so it's going to get a high grade from me.

It's a sharply written throwback to great atmospheric films such as 'The Ring' and 'The Grudge', which I believe Smile is 'The Ring' for this new generation. It's a movie that will win as a cult classic in the near future and will be looked back on as a triumph for its originality and sharply tense atmosphere. Another great entry into the genre. Kudos.

By the way, Smile has one of the best third acts ever.
