Carry-On

About: A mysterious traveler blackmails a young TSA agent into letting a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.

CARRY-ON is a Liam Neeson thriller without Liam Neeson.

What I liked most about Jaume Collet-Serra's Netflix thriller is that it reminds me of his own film NON-STOP, which starred Liam Neeson. It's very much that and Die Hard mixed with it.

It's a fun movie, has some true thrills to it. It's expertly crafted, with a few solid performances from both Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton. It's refreshing to see Bateman take on such a dynamic villainous role, in which he portrays it with ease. Egerton makes for a smart, engaging and entertaining protagonist.

I was kinda hoping Neeson would pop up in some type of cameo because this film fits his repertoire. Oh well, I hope we get more Serra/Neeson combos down the line.

The finale is pretty straight forward, nothing too clever about it. But it's setup nicely and it all makes perfect sense in the grand scheme of things. No harm, no foul.

If you like Serra's work and you like all those Liam Neeson action thrillers... CARRY-ON is a must watch and it is a fun one, regardless if you see between the lines well.
