Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood | Review & Score

About: A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the final years of Hollywood's Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.

Quentin Tarantino's ONCE UPON A TIME...IN HOLLYWOOD is his most ambitious and incredibly crafted film to date.

Crazy to say that first line, right? Well, that's how I feel about it. A great and game cast makes for a fun time in the late '60s. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Rick Dalton, a B movie actor who is trying to figure out how he adapts in a new world in Hollywood. DiCaprio is brilliant in every way, per usual. DiCaprio brings us on a thrill ride, not for action, but for drama and some solid comedic scenes we don't get much from the Hollywood badass.

Brad Pitt is stuntman Cliff Booth, a soft spoken but incredibly loyal friend to Dalton. Pitt deserved the Oscar for this role. He is incredible and brings a raw, but silent nature to Booth that shows his craftiness and brute in different, humane ways. A role Pitt was born to play, I fear not.

Margot Robbie is the iconic Sharon Tate. Robbie really did encapsulate the essence, heart, kind and beauty of Tate throughout the film. Another role that was perfectly casted here. Robbie is tremendous and deserved so much more award recognition.

OUATIH has one of the most awesome third acts I've ever seen. While its being historically accurate in the build up, Tarantino brings his signature flair to what becomes a bloody, but good excuse on what history really had to bring back in that occurance. You shouldn't be mad at it, and you will definitely be entertained by it. Well done, Tarantino. You mananged to outdo yourself again.
