The Watchers | Review & Score

About: A young artist gets stranded in an extreme, immaculate forest in western Ireland, where, after finding shelter, she becomes trapped alongside three strangers, stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

I loved the uniqueness of this movie.

THE WATCHERS is a very unique concept and done with exceptional direction and tone. It definitely has a very M. Night Shyamalan production and tone feel to it. The pacing was nice and the performances were all great, especially Dakota Fanning.

Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of legendary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, directs The Watchers and the apple didn't fall far from the tree at all. She has a great future ahead of her, if she continues to be a director. She has her father's touch when it comes to setting that dready tone and film environment.

Her first outing here is exceptionally unique and excellently performed. The twist was good and the finale was very solid and it all became very... well rounded. I enjoyed the movie and I can't wait to see what Ishana has in store for us next. It's definitely a great theater-going experience.

Also, it doesn't have a ton of cheap jump scares in it, so if you're not a fan of all that, you're in luck with The Watchers.
