A House on the Bayou | Review & Score

About: A trouble couple and their daughter who go on vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family. But when unexpected visitors arrive, the unity starts to unravel.

This film was all over the place. On one hand, the acting is decent. On another hand, the plot is very familiarized, as with most 'home invasion' thrillers. And to top it all off, we get a pretty subtle plot twist towards the end. I saw this movie on Hulu one night and my first impression was it was a very familiar plot and the twists at the end were done before (and a lot better).

A HOUSE ON THE BAYOU is a decent but formulaic thriller, with some good set pieces but not a lot else going for it overall, maybe a performance or two. It's a good Saturday night movie for ya if you have nothing else to watch or felt like you've seen everything.

2.5/5
