The Lost Boys | Review & Score

About: After moving to a new town, two brothers discover that the area is a haven for vampires.

Shocking to some of my close 'horror buds' on the interwebs, I haven't seen THE LOST BOYS until now. All these years and it being one of the most popular horror films of all time and here I am popping my cherry. Good news for Lost Boys fans, I didn't dislike it. At all.

It's campy, corny, cool, rad, sweet, neat and everything in between. Kiefer Sutherland makes for a great and charismatic villain. Jason Patric just looks like the cool guy next door. Jami Gertz is the heart and vulnerability of the bunch and Corey Feldman is Corey Feldman. Everything blends so nicely with this movie. The '80s looks, vibes, soundtrack and style is all there and vibrant as hell.

Whenever I used to look at the poster for Lost Boys, I always assumed Patric's character was the leader of the vamp squad. Blame the poster for that, because wouldn't you agree it gives off that vibe? It certainly does. Regardless, The Lost Boys is a fun movie, in which I figure it gets A LOT of rewatches. I can see where people find the movie extremely rewatchable. For me, one or two times is fine by me. To this day, 30 Days of Night is by far the greatest, scariest and highly entertaining vampire movie of all time.

For those who have been advising me to watch The Lost Boys, you finally got what you wanted. The peer pressure is REAL. Now leave me alone. Haha. I'm kidding, it's an entertaining movie with some great coloring and visuals, killer soundtrack and solid performances. Although, like I said, it won't become a Halloween tradition or anything like that for me, personally, but I get the hype now. Thank you for the advising over the years, internet. You actually win one for a change. *wink*

Also, last thing. I mentioned on social media that THE LOST BOYS has found its way up my rankings of favorite vampire movies and I mean that.

3.5/5
