Disturbia | Review & Score

About: A teen living under house arrest becomes convinced his neighbor is a serial killer.

Finally, we get some Hitchock in the new era of film. It's been a minute, but we finally saw some more Hitchockian blessings out of D.J. Caruso's suspense thriller DISTURBIA. I believe it was made as a vehicle to showcase Shia LaBeouf's talents, which it does, but it turned out to be such a fantastic film. With a solid cast, compelling villain and decent enough story, Disturbia finally gives a new generation a taste of the Alfred Hitchcock flair.

Another real bright spot here is David Morse. Morse is one of the best character actors we have, and he's always underutilized in most features he's in. Not in Disturbia. Morse is given some great material, a solid story and makes it into one of his absolute best roles, along with a terrific and compelling villain.
