The Day After Tomorrow | Review & Score

About: Jack Hall, paleoclimatologist, must make a daring trek from Washington, D.C. to New York City to reach his son, trapped in the cross-hairs of a sudden international storm which plunges the planet into a new Ice Age.

With accomplished director Roland Emmerich at the helm, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW is a special effects phenomenon, which Emmerich is known for. His style is brisk, with some heavy themes of natural peril at hand. All makes for a fantastic popcorn time at the theater, or in this case now, home. It's not really meant to be much more than a special effects spectacle, but it also doesn't need to account for much more at all. It's a blockbuster feeling film, with heavy peril and happens to have some solid acting work from a great cast. The visuals are beautiful, disastrous and compelling.

The film puts you on the edge of your seat and doesn't let go until the credits, exactly what it's supposed to do in the end. Incredible work from everyone involved. If you have neglected to see it all these years, do yourself a favor and sit back and enjoy it. It's good.
